Herriots Hotel, Wedding Reception
Jay and Amelia
Next up on the wedding blog has to be my first wedding reception at my local – Herriots Hotel in Skipton.
Conveniently situated alongside the Leeds and Liverpool canal and just a 5 minute stroll down the tow path to Skipton High Street. Herriots Hotel is renowned in the area for it’s high standards in hospitality and personal service. It boasts luxurious canal side accommodation, a banqueting suite and a landscaped courtyard conservatory. For more information please visit their website: here
Amelia and Jay got married on the stunning Spanish island of Ibiza and then had their evening reception back in the UK at Herriots Hotel.

There were a few images that Jay and Amelia didn’t manage to get in Ibiza, so it was fantastic they had an opportunity with me to have an extra session, to create another collection of beautiful bridal portraits. Unfortunately, a few family members couldn’t make the Ibiza ceremony, so we captured these precious people and documented them in their wedding celebrations.
The wedding suppliers
Amelia’s dress from Ava Rose Hamilton is simply stunning and the equally stunning florals were created by The Yorkshire Floral Co. They make floral masterpieces with quality silk faux flowers. This bouquet had been through two flights and two wedding parties and still looked good!
Both hair and make up was expertly done by two ladies from La Bella Boutique. Jodie on makeup up and Emily on hair, these two are at the top of my recommended supplier list!
The portrait session
Before their guests started to arrive for the evening reception, we headed out for a little stroll over the canal bridge and into Aireville Park.
Dodging a few partygoers on route and the fantastic action that was happening for Skipton Pride in the Park, we found a quiet secluded field perfect for our portrait session.
Amelia and Jay’s adorable boys joined us for some family shots, before being picked up by a family member. The attention was then fully on the stunning bride and groom and we went on to create some amazing portraits.
The evening Reception
Next up it was a few group shots back at Herriots and the evening reception began. What a fun filled and happy evening this was, with a delicious bbq served, lots of laughter heard and fantastic action happening on the dance floor.
Half way through the night Amelia changed dresses and OH MY goodness, she looked absolutely stunning!! So what better excuse to grab them both for a quick ten minutes and head to the tow path for a few more portraits. Perfectly timed with a beautiful golden hour sunset.
Kind Words
These are the kind words received from Amelia and Jay, after they had received their wedding gallery.
” Jacqueline recently photographed our wedding reception and oh my days the photos are so beautiful! we got married in Ibiza but there was few photos we didn’t manage to get and of course a few people that unfortunately couldn’t make it so I had a list in mind of the shots I wanted Jacqueline to get. She was so helpful in every way and both my husband and I felt so comfortable Infront of her. So many of our guests commented on how lovely Jacqueline was and easy to be around and the photos she has managed to capture really do reflect such a happy funfilled eve that we all had. Thankyou so so much for our beautiful pics, you are so talented and I’ll be forever grateful for the gorgeous moments and memories you have captured for us ”
